Hi, I'm Kate. I'm new, thought I'd say hello.
I'm 22, and I've been in and out of hospitals since age 16 for anorexia, self-harm, suicide attempts, and dissociation. I'm currently in long term residential treatment (non-ED based). I want to get better and be happy, but I'm at the point where I don't think it's possible for me to give up the ED. I've lived with it too long--the only way I know how to live is while I'm slowly killing myself.
I'm a poet and fiction writer, as well as an obsessive kniter. I'm addicted to gum, crossword puzzles, and Diet Coke. I love to climb trees, and I collect all things hippo related. Most of my money gets spent on yarn and books. I'm a huge sci-fi geek, and I'm somewhat embarrassed to confess that my favorite musician is Jimmy Buffett.
